Fashion Photography

Fashion Photography is a discipline of photography designed to show the Clothing and fashion items in a stylistic way to make them appealing to the consumer.

Fashion Photography can be done either in the studio or on location, for most straight edge shoots, such as something for Ben Sherman, the preference may be studio for the way it portrays the models as serious individuals. However in some circumstances it may work well in a studio but using props to bring the outfit alive and to add a sophisticated flare

The art of Fashion Photography is one that doesn’t have to be done solely in a studio, and I believe given the right inspiration, can be much more effective done on location. For example this Mountain Biking shoot is for a competition to win some protective armor, so it makes sense to do this outside where you would usually be cycling. However I believe that even a shoot for Ben Sherman could be effectively done in a forest to not only show the sophistication of the clothes but to give an outdoorsman feel to them.
