Evaluation

During my photography assignment, I think it went extremely well, due to the fact I was working with really good people, who kept time well and were there for the times of the photo shoots. I was fortunate enough to be paired with two of the fashion students who were extremely reliable when it comes to replying to emails and being punctual. As well as this, both of the students knew exactly what they wanted photograph wise making my pre-production into looking into photography ideas for the shoots extremely easy. I think that the fact I had two reliable people who were able to give me a fairly specific brief into what they wanted, really helped me get the shots they wanted of their clothes. By the end of the shoot’s and showing them their photographs both of the students were extremely happy with what I had given them, making the entire shooting experience enjoyable for both parties with an outcome we were all proud of.

In post-production when I was editing the shots into a magazine layout I ran into a fair few snags, mainly with me overcomplicating things and not keeping them contemporary like in many fashion magazines today. However after some further research looking at magazines such as Finch and V magazine on the website ‘Issuu’, I was able to keep things a lot simpler, focusing purely on the images and the clothes that were being presented, with the messages they wanted to convey. I am extremely happy with my final layouts, as they both have consistency within themselves, and also show some extremely strong shots that work well showing off the clothes.
